Tara Home
compassionate care at the end of life
Bedside service at Tara Home involves mostly listening, holding space, offering spiritual presence, practicing being present in the moment. One cultivates and returns to a beginners mind throughout the companionship offered.
Fundraising can be as small as inspiring garage sales with friends, or sharing the giving link with friends, family, colleagues and clubs.
The beloved Tara Home cabin hosts hands-on material service from building to cleaning, to furnishing and gardening.
Those adept at Social media are invited to post. If you hike at Land of Medicine Buddha and post photos, even just tagging Tara Home in Instagram or Facebook is most welcome.
Volunteers must be able to offer 4 to 8 hours of service 2 to 4 times a month with a long-term commitment in mind.
After a successful interview, training topics include caregiving, emotional and spiritual needs of the terminally ill and an understanding of the dying process.
